"The trouble with poetry, I realized
as I walked along a beach one night --
cold Florida sand under my bare feet,
a show of stars in the sky --
the trouble with poetry is
that it encourages the writing of more poetry"The Trouble with Poetry by Billy Collins
Actually, the trouble with poetry, if you haven't noticed, is that I haven't been writing it. I haven't written a poem in about five days, and it's been even longer since I posted one here. I have fallen way behind on my goal of 30 Days of Poetry.
But I have an excuse! Sort of. You see, I fell gravely ill about five days ago, and I have been coughing to the point of gagging ever since. Luckily, I am much healthier now. I can breathe through my nose, I'm not having wild body temperature fluctuations, and my cough isn't quite so bad anymore. I tell you, finally being able to sleep rocks. Which of course I celebrated by staying up until two thirty... -_-;
But I have good news!
I will be going to Daisho Con this weekend! It's an anime convention held in Steven's Point, WI. This is its second official year, and it should be a grand old time! I am definitely looking forward to that. Let's just hope I'm not coughing the entire time.
There will be a Rock Band tournament in which my band, SpeedyGoku and the Lunchables (which includes both

and yours truly, along with our drummer Zakk and a guitarist yet to be determined), will be playing. Also, I will be cosplaying as The Nostalgia Critic from
[link] . It should be a rockin' good time!
So hooray for that!

Anyway, I'm not sure if I'm going to get caught up on my poetry quota, but you might still see a few more come up in recent days!

I'm escaping the pain,
So let me.

This comment is fleeting
It may stay, but soon forgotten
And yet, it is human contact
And for a moment, our lives
Have run into each other
What is your story
Are you happy
And why
I wonder who you are

Listened to a Melody Gardot song and I have a feeling you're going to like these guys. Falling or flying is also a great song

I lock the door and lock my head, dream of butterflies instead.
